Kevin has just come back from a month in Borneo working for World Challenge Expeditions. He led two schools, Park House and Ilkeston through Sarawak and Sabah, and had a great time with a great team. This video is some of the experiences.

Kevin has been working out in China with clients walking the Great Wall. This was for a company called Skyline Events who run charity trips. It was classic adventure, with some excellent people. Surprisngly, the Great Wall is not all it appears in photos, and much of it is in its original state and in quite mountainous areas. People were very friendly, and I just loved the food!

March 2010. The snowshoeing season is over for Let Loose with Adventure and we have now left the Luchon region. We've had a brilliant time - so much so that we have committed to going back again next winter. Thanks to everyone that has come out to see us, we've had some great snowshoeing with sunny days and lots of wildlife including Griffon vultures and eagles. We are also planning to run some trips this May and June in time for the springtime flowers. Have a looked here or on the Contact Us page with anything we might be able to help you with. All the best, Kevin

Jan - March 2010

January 2010.
According to World Travel Guide, the third Monday of January is the gloomiest day of the year and considered an emotional low for many. They suggest five ways to beat the January Blues, and we would like to add our bit as well.

  1. Find some winter sun - It maybe winter but the sun often shines in the Pyrenees. £499 per person will see you with a week's holiday in Bagneres de Luchon, snowshoeing in some spectacular scenery.
  2. Pamper yourself - Bagneres de Luchon has some of the best thermal baths and our holidays have time for you to spoil yourself. Here's the link Les-Thermes-de-Luchon
  3. Plan your summer holiday - We shall be putting our summer trips together over the next month. If you have some place you would like to go then let me know, I'm up for all sorts of ideas. Contact Us
  4. Embrace the winter - don't hibernate. They say there's no such thing as bad weather, it's all down to clothing and attitude. We'll be in the snowy mountains for three months and it's all about having fun.
  5. Get some exercise - this really works. It's surprising how fresh air and exercise makes us come alive.

The British Association of International Mountain Leaders (BAIML) had their AGM weekend combined with training. I took part in the improvised rope rescue, and water rescue techniques updating my own CPD. It's December so the water was pretty cold! Click on the photo for a bigger picture.

Let Loose with Adventure and Fieldskills have been working together on jungle training courses in the UK. We have worked together before in Borneo and have joined forces as we share common goals and interests.

2010 looks as though it will be a busy year for Kevin with a confirmed expedition with World Challenge Expeditions going out to Borneo in July. There are three other expeditions in the pipe-line; Peru in April, China in May and back to Tanzania and Kilimanjaro in September. If you would like to combine my trips to these countries with something of your own then just get in touch and we can talk it through. Contact Us.

Let Loose with Adventure have been approached to have a stand at the Adventure Travel Live Show 29th - 31st January 2010. There's a great line up with the travel writer Simon Calder, Sarah Miller from Conde Nast Traveller magazine, and Ben Fogle. The Royal Geographical Society will be there, and you you can go on workshops to do with photography and trip planning. Book tickets in advance to get a £4 reduction.
Contact us if you would like to see us there.
