"I spent 25 exciting years in the police service in the UK but have always been active in the outdoors. It was a natural choice to have a second career working as an outdoor instructor, and guiding in the mountains and on expeditions.

 I hold the Summer, Winter, and International Mountain Leader Awards and I am a member of the British Association of International Mountain Leaders. This association ensures that its members are qualified and up to date in their knowledge and experience.

I believe that life is about experiences, both those we have and those we impart on others. Travelling in the mountains or other environments is a great way to have new experiences and to encounter new people. I also have a passion for nature, which never ceases to amaze me in its beauty, complexity and balance. So, I'm very much in the ideal job!

I also enjoy photography and writing, intending to write for outdoor magazines. I recently self-published a young adult fantasy novel, Stone Child, as an eBook.

Working freelance for other companies has given me the chance to lead expeditions to Borneo, Belize, China, India, Morocco, Tanzania, and Venezuela. This includes some conservation work in Borneo, spending six months in the rainforest, which is one of my personal favourite environments.

Our groups are purposefully kept small; eight on snowshoeing holidays, tweleve on our expeditions, meaning plenty of care and attention. We look towards trips that are not just adventurous but different and out of the way. We are responsible towards the manner we travel, conservation trips is how we started; as well as how we look after you. We can assure you that you'll be in safe hands.

 

As the name suggests, the International Mountain Leader's Award is recognised around the globe, and is a qualification to have not just for legal reason but as a benchmark of service. Do read the pages on the BAIML website for more details. For our snowshoe holidays, we are registered in France; SIRET number 51169387100010, and we hold the necessary certificates to work in France as well as the French Carte Professionelle. We hold full liability insurance by Perkins Slade, a UK company and our contract with you is made under UK law. Kevin also holds the Single Pitch Award (climbing), a certificate in Overseas Medical Intervention, (First Aid), and a HSE management certificate. He is up to date with his CPD.
